Trishuli river is one of the holiest rivers of Nepal. It is easy to access from Kathmandu Valley. According to Hindu Mythology, it is believed that the almighty Hindu God Shiva stroke the Himalaya (today’s Gosainkunda) with his trident (Trishul), then water spouted there and a river began to flow. Now it is known as the Trishuli River. The Trishuli river has its source in Gosainkunda, which is located in the lap of Himalaya.
Trishuli is the primary water source for 4 districts of Nepal – Rasuwa, Nuwakot, Dhading and Chitwan. Two hydro-powers have been running from the Trishuli river and two more are under construction. River rafting in Trishuli river is really interesting and astounding. Every year thousands of people make river rafting trip in Trishuli river because it is neither too deep or large, nor small. The water at Trishuli is also clean and white. Rafting in Trishuli river is more suitable in the summer and autumn season.
