The village is within the boundary of Annapurna Conservation Area and Myagdi District of Dhaulagiri zone of central Nepal. This place was named Ghorepani as in ancient time it was the place where the traders in this zone found water for their horse (“Ghore” meaning horse and “Pani” meaning, water in Nepalese language.) It’s also a major midpoint linking major trekking and travel routes of both Annapurna and Dhaulagiri region treks.
