Annapurna Khopra Danda Trek

10 Days

If you are an entry-level trekker and would like to do a short, easy trek in Nepal that offers you both scenic beauty and ethnic culture, then Annapurna Khopra Danda trek is your best option. It has been the most-visited tourist region of Nepal for many years. The ease and accessibility of traveling, the spectacular scenery, and the beautiful and hospitable people are some of the regions for its popularity among tourists visiting Nepal.

You begin your journey by traveling from Kathmandu to Pokhara by car. Your real trek begins from Tikhedhunga. From there you will trek to Ghorepani. After that we will proceed towards Khopra Danda. Khopra Danda offers great views of  Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna I, II, III and south, Hiunchuli, Mt. Fishtail, Mt. Lamjung Himal and Mt. Nilgiri. We will then head towards Khayer Barah, where will we be camping. In addition to beautiful views of mountains, Khayer Barah also has a beautiful lake and a temple. From there on, you will head back to Pokhara.

You will also meet various ethnic groups along the way. Brahmins and Chhetris inhabit the lower regions and Gurungs, Magars, Sherpas and Tibetans inhabit the upper regions. All of these people are very friendly to visitors and their hospitality is considered one of the best in all of the trekking regions of Nepal. All of these reasons, make Annapurna Khopra Danda trek one of the most popular treks in Nepal.

The best time to do this trek is in spring (March-June) and autumn (September – November). Summers tend to be hot and rainy and winters tend to be cold and snowy, and hence they are not recommended seasons for traveling around this region.

Note: You can do this trekking in seven days also.
