The Ganesh Himal is named after the elephant-headed God of Good Fortune. The Ganesh Himal can clearly be seen from Kathmandu Valley. The Ganesh Range Peaks (Ganesh I, Ganesh II, Ganesh III, Ganesh IV) stand out like crystal, that is the "Great Himalayan Chain" forming the skyline. This great Himalayan massif is contained between the valley of the Buri Gandaki in the west and Bhote Koshi in the east, which becomes Trishuli Khola in the lower section.
Trekking in Ganesh himal region is enriched with its rich Flora: the impressive display of berberis, primula, orchids and a variety of Ferns, the valleys set ablaze by yellow blossoms of double Jasmine, the forest dense with Spanish oak, blue pine, and in spring time blossoming of the rhododendron set whole forest alight in spectacular arrays of color. Another feature includes the abundance of crystals which is regarded valuable and precious stone. The trekking route passes through quite Tamang villages, hot spas, gorges and glaciers and magnificent sceneries. Ganesh Himal Trekking can be organized only camping. Moreover, you can visit zinc mines at Somdang.
Trip Facts
Day 01 : Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about nine hours.
Day 02 : Trek from Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2238m.) via Goljung and it takes about six hours. .
Day 03 : Trek from Gatlang to Somdang (3500m.) which takes about five hours.
Day 04 : Trek from Somdang to Pansang Bhanjyang (3850m.) via Paldor Bhanjyang (3600m.) and it takes about seven hours.
Day 05 : Trek from Pangsang Bhanjyang to Chalise that takes about seven hours.
Day 06 : Trek from Chalise to Hindung which takes about five hours.
Day 07 : Trek from Hindung to Rajgang Kharka and it takes about five and half hours.
Day 08 : Trek from Rajgang Kharka to Kalo Seto Kunda (Black and White Lake) Ganesh Himal Base Camp which takes about six hours.
Day 09 : Rest day at the Base Camp.
Day 10 : Trek from Ganesh Himal Base Camp to Rajgang Kharka and it takes about six hours.
Day 11 : Trek from Rajgang Kharka to Chalise (2000m.) which takes about six hours.
Day 12 : Trek from Sertung or Chalise to Jharlang which takes approximately eight hours.
Day 13 : Trek from Jharlang to Darkha and it takes about seven hours.
Day 14 : Trek from Darkhu to Khahare Bazaar that takes about seven hours.
Day 15 : Drive from Khahare Bazaar to Kathmandu by bus which takes approximately eight hours.

How can I enter in Nepal?
Nepal is a popular tourist destination in south Asia. Several airlines have direct and non-stop flights from Middle East and Asia to Kathmandu, Capital of Nepal.

Do I need to stay in Katmandu?
Kathmandu is the capital of Nepal. At least, you need to spend one or two nights in Kathmandu before and after your trip. We can arrange your hotel accommodation in Kathmandu as per your interest and budget.
Can I do Ganesh Himal Base Camp with Somdang?
Ganesh Himal Base Camp with Somdang is suitable for any trekker looking for something a little more challenging and energetic. It does not require that you have any previous trekking or mountaineering experience. You need to be moderately fit and normally healthy. It is good if you do some exercise before you come to Nepal for trekking.
When should I come for Ganesh Himal Base Camp with Somdang?
February, March, April, May, June, September, October, November are the best seasons. However, July & August are okay and trekking can be done but not so clear visibility due to rain.
Do I need to join with group?
It is not necessary; you have to join with group and follow our group departure date, because private trip departures everyday upon your
request and requirements. You can move at your own pace and set your own schedule by not being in group.
What kind of accommodation I can have during the trip?
In Kathmandu, we can provide any category of hotels you want as per your interest and budget and during the trekking, we provide you guest house which is called Tea house. Tea Houses are more like hotels, with hot showers, western food, and private rooms (twin sharing). In this arrangement overnight halts with dinner and breakfast will be in Tea-houses (Lodges) and lunches in local restaurants en-route.
Furthermore as you will be staying in locally owned lodges you will be benefiting and interacting with the local community. It will give you a true feel for the Nepalese people and their lives.
What kind of meals I can have during the trek?
All Meals on full board basis will be provided during trekking. You have to choose from menu. Freshly cooked food is served at all times (western, continental and Nepali meals are available in all places). Three meals a day will be provided.
Do I have pre-departure meeting?
Yes, at first, our staff will receive you at the airport and transfer to the hotel and our tour leader will brief regarding about the trip. The briefing will cover the itinerary and introduction of your trek guide and porters.
Can I charge camera batteries along the trek?
Yes, Most of the places, you can charge batteries along the trek (per hour USD 2-3 for charging).
Can I extend my holiday?
Everest base camp trek can be extend and there are many options and choices to extend your holiday before or after your main trip. Following trips are suggested for your holiday extensions.
